Benchwork/Joinery Apprentice or Journeyperson
We require a 3rd or 4th year Benchwork/Joinery Apprentice or Journeyperson who possesses these
essential skills:
- strong attention to detail
- excellent written and oral communication
- ability to work with others

- job task planning and organizing
- ability to independently source information when required
- ability to work independently
- desire for continuous learning
This individual will need substantial knowledge:
- in operating power tools
- of millwork machinery
- in reading and interpreting work orders, drawings and specifications
- in estimating labor time
- in determining material requirements per job
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- maintenance and repair of department machinery
- shop maintenance
- ensuring all work is completed with the highest degree of quality, service and within job completion deadlines
- administering and overseeing department quality control and assurance
Hours of work, compensation & Benefits:
- Year-round employment 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Mon – Fri
- Paid vacation time based on seniority (1 year: 2 weeks, 3 years: 3 weeks, 5 years: 4 weeks, 10 years: 5 weeks)

Moulder Lead Hand
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safe, effective, efficient set-up & operation of moulders, as well as grinding new profiles & sharpening existing knifes.
- Understand & follow all Company safety and work procedures & adhere to all applicable WorkSafe BC regulations.
- Understand & help develop a preventative maintenance program; responsible for reporting maintenance requirements; responsible for maintenance program of certain shop equipment.
- Maintain strong communication with the Moulder dept. staff to ensure that they are aware of potential & actual problems or concerns.
- Give direction and/or instruction on safety, production & quality issues to staff in the moulder work areas as required.
- Responsible for efficiency of scheduling & material usage.
- Responsible to ensure quality control for all mouldings produced.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge/understanding of Standard Operational & Safety Procedures, Lockout Procedures, grinding templates, steel
- Understand Moulder setup/operation (Weinig Moulder an asset) as well as knowledge of wood species & grain direction.
- Good basic mathematical skills, oral & written communications.
- Must be self-motivated & possess good planning, organizational & problem-solving skills.
- Some heavy lifting.
